Do I need a specific cause to file for and process a divorce?

In CDMX, no-fault divorce (divorcio incausado) applies. It is not required to state a cause or reason to request it; the will of one of the spouses is sufficient.

To process it, it will be necessary to define proposals regarding:

• The care and custody of minor children subject to parental authority.
• Visitation and parenting time arrangements.
• Child support and compensatory alimony, if applicable.
• Liquidation of the marital property (if married under a community property regime).
